On behalf of Alter, our Superstructure Group Manager, İsmail Hakkı Başeğmez attended the "Workshop on the Role of Strengthening in Urban Transformation", held on 30.05.2023, organized by the Earthquake Strengthening Association (DEGUDER) at Istanbul Technical University Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center and held contacts with sector representatives. We congratulate DEGUDER members, who have raised awareness about the assessment and strengthening activities for buildings against earthquakes through this workshop. We, as Alter, emphasize in all areas that the existing building stock in earthquake zones should be examined and their needs to be determined, and the unsufficient structures should be strengthened. In addition to the fact that we have completed more than 1,000,000 m2 of work in the performance analysis of existing buildings and the preparation of retrofit projects, we continue to provide quality services in cooperation with our universities and we need to expand and accelerate the retrofitting activities in our country, where we encounter devastating earthquakes every 20 years.
